The Nalgene Cap Replacement Tether was designed as a direct replacement for the OEM Nalgene plastic strap that often breaks or twists. Laser cut from Squadron laminate, this direct replacement features an additional through-hole for carabiner attachment or retention point connection. We do not suggest frequent removal and re-installation as that will begin to stretch the material. We do not recommend storing a full bottle for long periods of time suspended by the tether, when not in use. This tether is not designed to handle dynamic loading.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Carefully remove your existing Nalgene cap from your bottle by pulling upward.
Using a sharp knife or diagonal cutters, remove the OEM plastic strap from the post on the lid.
Align the small hole on the long end of the tether on the lid post, making sure it is under the ledge. (lettering facing upwards)
Using your fingernail and constant pressure, slowly edge the tether onto the post until about halfway around.
Once it is halfway around, using firm pressure, pull on the tether until it snaps into place.
On the primary threads of the bottle, repeat this process, using your finger to trace the lip of the threads while applying downward pressure.
CAUTION: DO NOT DAMAGE THE LID RETENTION POST DURING REMOVAL - or yourself for that matter.
