humangear capCAP+ Replacement Tether

The humangear capCAP+ Replacement Tether and carabiner attachment was designed as a direct replacement for the latest generation of the humangear capCAP+ OEM plastic strap. While this plastic strap is much stronger than the OEM Nalgene plastic tether, it is not impervious to breaking. Laser cut from squadron laminate, this direct replacement features an additional through-hole for carabiner attachment or retention point connection.

Note: We do not suggest frequent removal and re-installation as this is fabric and will stretch over time. We do not recommend storing a full bottle for long periods of time suspended by the tether, when not in use. This tether is NOT designed to handle dynamic (jerking) loads. Please note that due to the original size of the OEM plastic, there will be a gap along the ring where it is installed.

Installation Instructions:

1. Remove the capCAP+ from bottle or packaging.
2. Using a sharp knife or diagonal cutters, CAREFULLY remove the OEM plastic strap from both or either section of the lid.
3. Align the smaller of the two holes on the long end of the tether with the smaller drinking cap from the UNDERSIDE. It is much easier to install from the bottom than over the rubber overmold.
4. Using your fingernail and constant pressure, slowly edge the tether onto the post until about halfway around.
5. Once it is halfway around, using firm pressure, pull on the tether until it drops into the lid.
6. The larger loop can be installed on the larger cap, under the cap between the bottle thread lip OR under the thread lip for added security. Please note that not all of these locations provide the same level of retention and it CAN slip off.

CAUTION: DO NOT DAMAGE EITHER SECTION OF THE LID DURING OEM STRAP REMOVAL. Use caution when using knives or cutting tools, your safety is your responsibility.
