The dosages provided on the Water Data Card Family of products are in accordance and alignment wiht the dosages as recommended by the CDC and EPA for safe water preparation. Please note that these concentrations and doses are considerably higher than other manufactured options (Aquatabs, Aquamira, H2gO) and should be treated accordingly. Cana Provisions does not reccomend the use of household bleach as your primary water treatment method due to the varying concentrations of bleach and its degradation/decomposition over time. Follow all manufacturers directions and personal protective equipment for the safe handling of bleach. Do not drink bleach. Your water treatment is your responsibility.
WHAT'S YOUR WATER PLAN?
A water plan is a strategy and procedure for collecting, storing, treating, and providing clean, safe potable water for you and your dependents.
Here in the US, we are blessed with access to clean, safe water directly from the tap (in most regions). We give very little thought to what we would do in the event that water was no longer safe. Whether a cyber attack, crumbling infrastructure, or natural disasters, the system we have come to be completely dependent upon is alarmingly fragile and at risk.
The first step is realizing that you need a water plan. The next step is to determine your objective, which in this case is to determine how much water you actually need to support you and your dependents for a given time period. We've created an easy, straightforward first physical step for you with these Water Plan Worksheets.
Before we start discussing sources, methods of treatment, and equipment, the first and most crucial action item is to determine your need. A case or two of water likely won't be enough to meet your needs, and this exercise will help form the basis for your method(s) of treatment and equipment. Start with Worksheet Step 1 to calculate your need.
After you've completed Step 1 - Planning, let's take a look at your current water inventory - how much "step off" water you have on hand. Use Worksheet Step 2 as a guide to compare what you have to what you need and help guide your next steps.
Using Steps 1 and 2, complete Worksheet Step 3 to take the guess work out of your water PACE plan. Step 3 will help you outline your Primary, Alternate, Contingency and Emergency courses of action.
