WHAT'S YOUR WATER PLAN?

WATER PLAN FAQ's & PROCESS

WHAT IS A WATER PLAN? Plus

A water plan is a strategy and procedure for collecting, storing, treating, and providing clean, safe potable water for you and your dependents.

WHY DO I NEED A WATER PLAN? Plus

Here in the US, we are blessed with access to clean, safe water directly from the tap (in most regions). We give very little thought to what we would do in the event that water was no longer safe. Whether a cyber attack, crumbling infrastructure, or natural disasters, the system we have come to be completely dependent upon is alarmingly fragile and at risk.

WHERE DO I START? Plus

The first step is realizing that you need a water plan. The next step is to determine your objective, which in this case is to determine how much water you actually need to support you and your dependents for a given time period. We've created an easy, straightforward first physical step for you with these Water Plan Worksheets.

STEP 1 - PLANNING Plus

Before we start discussing sources, methods of treatment, and equipment, the first and most crucial action item is to determine your need. A case or two of water likely won't be enough to meet your needs, and this exercise will help form the basis for your method(s) of treatment and equipment. Start with Worksheet Step 1 to calculate your need.

STEP 2 - INVENTORY Plus

After you've completed Step 1 - Planning, let's take a look at your current water inventory - how much "step off" water you have on hand. Use Worksheet Step 2 as a guide to compare what you have to what you need and help guide your next steps.

STEP 3 - PACE PLANNING Plus

Using Steps 1 and 2, complete Worksheet Step 3 to take the guess work out of your water PACE plan. Step 3 will help you outline your Primary, Alternate, Contingency and Emergency courses of action.

A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

We know that this whole process and topic can seem very overwhelming in the best of circumstances. We also know that the very idea of losing access to clean, safe water can be difficult to digest. We want to encourage you that the situation doesn't have to be hopeless, nor insurmountable.

It's better to start with small, simple steps in the right direction than to walk away feeling overwhelmed. Walk with us as we discuss ideas, concepts, and action items that anyone can use to better secure their basic needs in the event of an emergency.

WE WANT TO SEE YOU SUCCEED

We don't have all the answers and your plan will ultimately be determined by your specific needs, circumstances and environment.
