Designed by SOF personnel for the modern battlefield—and just as at home in the gym, the arena, or the field—the MODCAN is the first and only personal hydration system built with integral SERVOGARD antimicrobial and antifungal technology, engineered to delay the growth of mold and fungus inside your bottle. Make no mistake: this is not your grandfather's canteen.

Built around an industry-standard 1L / 1qt (32oz) geometry with a 63mm wide-mouth thread, the MODCAN drops straight into the accessory ecosystem you already own—Nalgene wide-mouth gear, CamelBak Eddy threads, and 38mm narrow-mouth caps. Its squeezable body and included QUICKSHOT cap deliver pressurized, jet-spray flow for fast drinking, rinsing, and cleaning. And for anyone running CBRN gear, it's compatible with a wide range of gas-mask canteen caps—Avon (NSN 8465-01-529-9800), MIRA, Dräger, and NATO M40 (caps customer-supplied).

The dosages provided on the Water Data Card family of products are in accordance and alignment with the dosages as recommended by the CDC and EPA for safe water preparation. Please note that these concentrations and doses are considerably higher than other manufactured options (Aquatabs, Aquamira, H2gO) and should be treated accordingly. We do not recommend the use of household bleach as your primary water treatment method due to the varying concentrations of bleach and its degradation/decomposition over time. Is the TACVALVE MODCAN compatible with gas masks? Plus

Yes. The MODCAN's 38mm narrow-mouth threads accept customer-supplied gas-mask canteen caps, including Avon (NSN 8465-01-529-9800), MIRA, Dräger, and NATO M40. You'll add the Type A or Type M drinking cap that came with your specific mask—your mask's drink tube connects to that cap, not directly to the QUICKSHOT cap.
Does the MODCAN fit Nalgene and CamelBak accessories? Plus

Yes. It uses an industry-standard 63mm wide-mouth thread, so it works with Nalgene wide-mouth accessories, other 63mm wide-mouth bottles, and CamelBak Eddy thread patterns.
how does the MODCAN's antimicrobial feature work? Plus

The MODCAN is built with a food-safe antimicrobial and antifungal technology integrated into the bottle material itself, engineered to delay the appearance and growth of mold and fungus inside the bottle. It never needs to be reapplied or renewed, it's safe for drinking, and it adds no taste to your water.
Is the MODCAN BPA-free? Will it leach chemicals? Plus

The MODCAN is made from virgin HDPE #2 plastic and is free of BPA, BPS, PFAS, and phthalates. It will not leach chemicals into your water over time.
How do I clean the MODCAN? Is it dishwasher safe? Plus

Yes, the MODCAN is dishwasher safe. For everyday care, an occasional hot-water rinse keeps it fresh, with a periodic soapy wash recommended. If you use electrolyte or drink mixes, an occasional scrub with a bottle brush clears any buildup.
Can I freeze the MODCAN or add boiling water? Plus

Both are fine. To freeze, leave a small expansion gap at the top so the flexible bottle doesn't balloon—it returns to shape once thawed. You can add boiling water (the bottle will soften slightly), but never boil water directly in the MODCAN over a flame, and take care, as the QUICKSHOT valve can vent hot steam.
What's included with the MODCAN? Plus

Each MODCAN includes the bottle, the QUICKSHOT squeeze cap, a lid, gaskets, and a load-bearing strap with a built-in retaining ring that supports the full weight of the bottle. For high-intensity movement or high-risk environments, a secondary retention device such as an enclosed pouch is recommended.
My QUICKSHOT valve leaked slightly, is that normal? Plus

Under normal use it shouldn't leak. The QUICKSHOT valve requires purposeful force to activate. If you notice leaking, make sure the gaskets are seated correctly and the strap isn't blocking the wide-mouth threads. If you'd prefer a simpler closure for certain applications, pair your MODCAN with a CCAL closure cap.
