PRODUCT INFORMATION

The Cana Provisions AR-1 water transfer pump was designed as the first and most crucial component of the modular Cana Ecosystem. While designed to pressurize and drive the ecosystem, the AR-1 was designed to first and foremost stand alone. Whether you’re moving on foot, on two wheels, four wheels, setting up camp or in your backyard the AR-1 is expressly designed to meet your water transfer needs. From source to container, container to container, pressurizing a pre-plumbed system or feeding a filter - moving water is what the AR-1 does. No more hand pumping, no more siphoning, no more dunking containers in the pond. Its application is limited only by your imagination.

Answers to most common questions about the Cana Provisions AR-1
How do I operate the AR-1? Plus

The AR-1 was designed to be both intuitive and easy to operate. For step by step operations, please see our instruction card included in your order, or reference the digital version here.
How long will the AR-1 run? Plus

The length of time that your AR-1 will run continuously will depend on your power source and whether you are running it for straight throughput OR to generate pressure. While using it to build pressure, it will consume roughly double it’s consumption rate and subsequently roughly halve your run time on your particular battery.
Do you offer custom length hoses, repair kits or hardware to make my own hoses? Plus

How many gallons is my AR-1 good for? Plus

We have test units that have pumped more than 10,000gal in a single, uninterrupted setting. (85deg F at 45% humidity, out of direct sunlight, with continuous power)
Can I store my AR-1 wet? Plus

For short term movement, storage, employment, absolutely, yes. That being said, while not in use or planning on use, we recommend allowing the pump to run “dry” by disconnecting both hoses for 5-10 seconds and turning the unit on. This will purge the remainder of the water from inside the unit. We also recommend allowing your hoses to hang and drip dry. While you can store the AR-1 and accessories wet, for longevity, we recommend allowing them to dry before longer term storage.

Can I pump liquids other than water with my AR-1? Plus

The AR-1 was designed to circulate water with the ultimate goal of using that water for consumption. While the AR-1 IS NOT A FILTER and you should not consume water directly through from the AR-1, avoid pumping other fluids that could contaminate your water further. DO NOT PUMP caustic chemicals or flammable liquids or fuels. This includes but is not limited to: pool chemicals, oxidizers, diesel, kerosene, AvFuel (all formulations), gasoline, butane, NG, LP, etc. Doing so can be extremely hazardous to your health and safety and will void AR-1 warranty. Please use your AR-1 responsibly.

How far will the AR-1 pull water up? Plus

The AR-1 will pull water up to itself (aka - lift) water on the intake side up to an elevation of 10’ unassisted, started dry with no prime. This may vary slightly depending on your elevation and barometric pressure. If it is not doing so, make sure that the intake strainer is fully submerged and the intake hose hasn’t collapsed on itself. This is indicating that the intake hose is clogged.

How far up will the AR-1 push water? Plus

The AR-1 will push water up to an astonishing 100’+ in vertical elevation. The exact distance may vary based on your elevation and barometric pressure. To achieve a faster arrival of water at your elevation, plug in your outlet hose and turn the pump on until water is coming out the outlet hose. Turn the pump off, then elevate the hose. Once your outlet hose is at elevation, turn the AR-1 back on. Water should begin to flow immediately.

How far can I pump water with the AR-1? Plus

At this time, we have tested lengths in excess of 140’. As long as you haven’t exceeded 100’ in vertical elevation change, depending on your elevation and barometric pressure, you should be able to push water in excess of 200’ along uneven terrain.
